Every home service company sells a membership now, and homeowners are right to be a little skeptical. Some are genuinely valuable. Some are a monthly charge for a magnet on your fridge. The way to tell the difference is to ignore the marketing and do the arithmetic. So let's do it — with our own plan, in the open.
$15 a month on a 12-month term, then month-to-month — cancel any time after the first year. That's $180 for year one. Here's what's in it:
Two service calls in a year covers it on dispatch fees alone: 2 × $89 = $178, against $180 in dues. That's the floor, before the warranty, before the safety evaluation, before priority scheduling.
Now add one after-hours call — the breaker that trips at 9pm on a Sunday, the outlet that starts smelling hot during a storm. That single call is $249 at standard rates and $99 as a member. A $150 swing on one event covers most of the year's dues by itself.
If you never call an electrician, don't buy a membership. If you own an older home, run a shop, or have called us twice in the last two years, the math already works.
We'd rather tell you honestly. If you're in a newer home with an updated panel, you've never called an electrician, and you're not planning any projects, you may not get $180 of value out of it in a given year. Buy it when it fits your house, not because it's offered.
